About the Award

Supported by Soka Gakkai Singapore (SGS), the SGS-Ikeda Peace Award gives recognition to students at the Singapore Management University who are committed to the spirit of volunteerism.  The award will be given annually to a student who has achieved or made significant contributions to the University or the community at large through partnership with volunteer welfare organisations.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Impacting others through volunteerism by partnering with VWO(s) approved by the Ministry of Social and Family Development
  • Make on-going/active contributions to SMU and/or the community at large
  • Outstanding community leadership skills
  • Good character records

The award will only be given if there is a candidate of sufficient merit.

Benefits

Certificate and $3,000 Cash Prize

Application

  • Applications will be invited in Term 2 annually.
  • Interested applicants must provide documentary evidence in support of fulfilment of eligibility criteria.
