About the Financial Award

Established in 2014, the Wilmar Overseas Community Service Project Grant is available to full-time undergraduates at the Singapore Management University.  It seeks to facilitate student participation in overseas community service projects for those wanting to serve the community and create an impact on its beneficiaries.  This Grant is an opportunity to expose the University’s students to the less fortunate in the emerging economies of the world and allows them to better relate to the needs of others in society and to assist them.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full time SMU undergraduates of any nationality wishing to undertake a community service project approved by the Centre for Social Responsibilty (C4SR).
  • Preference for the projects to be carried out in China and/or Indonesia, in communities identified by Wilmar International Limited.

Tenure and Benefits

Up to 70 percent of the total cost of a project or trip incurred or to be incurred for each project or trip.

Conditions of Award

  • The Grant will be awarded at the project team level, with recommendation from C4SR.
