“SMU truly opened many doors for me in terms of the paths to take, which gave me more time and space to explore my interests and develop myself.”

With SMU, I have travelled to…

I am currently on exchange in the Netherlands, Amsterdam at VU University. It has really been a blast! I have made so many new friends there, whether it be at the university or at the student housing, and I have travelled to quite a few places, with more to come! I feel like I have grown a lot here in many ways, in terms of learning to take care of myself, as well as learning more about different cultures.

How has your SMU scholarship benefitted you so far?

As an SMU Merit Scholar, I am fortunate to have my tuition fully funded, which takes a lot of stress away from my parents and myself. Additionally, the Global Learning Opportunities Worldwide (GLOW) fund allowed me to go for and enjoy my semester exchange without fear. I also had the opportunity to give back to the community through an overseas community service project, Project Grasya, where we taught students in the Philippines subjects such as Mathematics and Science.

What is your favourite food to get on campus?

Tea Party, specifically bacon aglio olio. It comes with a drink and is near where I usually am, which makes it a convenient and nice meal for me.

Name your favourite class/mod at SMU.

Social Analytics and Applications.
