Multi-Disciplinary Curriculum
Learn the fundamentals and much more. The Law-Related Electives allow you to see law in context and learn complementary skills. You will broaden and deepen your knowledge with our curated selection of Law Major Electives and Free Elective opportunities, and put everything together to craft practical solutions with the Law Capstone programme.
Further Opportunities to Specialise
Tailor your educational experience to suit your needs and interests. You can take a broad mix of modules, or pursue depth by pursuing a specialisation track in Corporate Transactions, Law and Technology, or Dispute Resolution. You can also choose from SMU’s many second major programmes, or supplement or deepen your knowledge by taking on a second degree programme.

See law in its economic, social, and ethical context. You will gain practical experience and a strong sense of values through our internship and pro bono programmes, which form an integral part of the legal education we provide. Beyond foundational knowledge of the law, you will appreciate how law operates within the broader social, economic, institutional and political environment, how it is situated within various philosophical frameworks and traditions, and how it might respond to new situations across international borders and into the future. You may take your learning even further beyond inter-disciplinary borders by pursuing a double degree or a second major, or by choosing to pursue a specialisation track to gain more in-depth knowledge, industry awareness, and practial skills in a particular field.
Learning at the Yong Pung How School of Law extends beyond the classroom. Our students learn about how the law works in real life through internships with law firms, government bodies, and legal departments in other institutions. Beyond Singapore, students gain global exposure through the international exchange programme, overseas internships, Law Study Missions, and inter-university competitions. Through campus legal clinics run by our Pro Bono Centre, our students learn to see law as not just a practice but a calling while contributing towards the ideal of equal access to justice in society.
