About the Award

Established in 2023, the Jimmy and Phebe Teo Award for the Top First Year Economics Student aims to motivate the University's exceptional students’ talents in the School of Economics at the Singapore Management University and to spur them to greater heights of academic excellence.

Eligibility Criteria

The Award will be given annually to the top performing first year Bachelor of Science (Economics) student who demonstrates academic excellence.

The Award will only be given if there is a candidate of sufficient merit.

Benefits

 Cash Prize: S$3,000

Application

Recipient will be determined by SOE.

About the Donor

This award is made possible by Mr Joshua Teo and named in honour of his parents, Mr and Mrs Jimmy and Phebe Teo.

While Jimmy is an accomplished author, business owner and networker extraordinaire, Phebe is the other half of Jimmy whose love for the family is unparalleled and whose contributions to social work have been exceptional. They believe that the future belongs to ambitious, bright, and helpful individuals such as the prize recipient.
