SingHealth-SMU Health Economics and Management Awards

About the Awards

Established in 2019, the SingHealth-SMU Health Economics and Management (HEM) Awards aim to motivate the University's exceptional student talent in the HEM second major programme at the School of Economics (SOE) and the work-study elective offered by schools at the Singapore Management University, and spur them on to greater heights of academic and internship excellence.

Eligibility Criteria

Students who meet the qualifying criteria will be considered:

SingHealth Aspiring Health Economics and Management Student Book Prize

  • Declared second major in HEM
  • Completed and achieved the highest GPA for 4 core modules of HEM major by the end of third year of study.

SingHealth Health Economics and Management Outstanding Student Award

  • Best final year student from any degree programme with declared second major in HEM
  • Completed and achieved highest GPA across 4 compulsory and 4 elective modules comprising the HEM major.
  • Obtained a pass in either the 10-week or the 6-month internship stint in SingHealth (and/or in any of its institutions).

SingHealth Health Economics and Management Intern Awards

  • Full-time undergraduates from any degree programme pursuing a 6-month work-study programme with SingHealth.
  • Shows drive and pro-activeness to learn during the internship stint.
  • Demonstrates evidence of applying learnings and contributes actively in internship.

Interns will be invited to submit a paper on their experience and learning insights of projects done during internship stint.

Application

Award recipients will be determined by SingHealth and SOE.
