SMU SCIS Frontier AI Scholarship

The SMU SCIS Frontier AI Scholarship empowers exceptional computing students to shape the future of artificial intelligence. Covering full tuition fees, overseas exposure allowances, and personalised mentorship, the scholarship gives recipients the freedom to explore, innovate, and lead at the cutting edge of technology.

Eligibility Criteria

Applying for admissions to the Bachelor of Computer Science full-time undergraduate degree programme at SMU or Bachelor of Science (Information Systems) with a 2nd major in Computing Studies (Frontier Artificial Intelligence) or Bachelor of Science (Software Engineering) degree with a 2nd major in Computing Studies (Frontier Artificial Intelligence).

  • Singapore Citizen
  • Possess outstanding academic results
  • Demonstrate strong interest and passion in technology and AI
  • Possess excellent records in co-curricular and/or community activities

Benefits

  • Tuition fee coverage (after MOE tuition grant subsidy)
  • $4,500 annual living allowance
  • $2,000 one-time computer allowance upon enrolment
  • S$14,000 Global Learning Opportunities Worldwide (GLOW) grant to fund part or combination of the following:
    • Overseas Student Exchange/Summer Programme
    • Overseas Community Service Project
    • Overseas School Study Missions
    • Overseas Case Competitions and presentations at Conferences
  • Option to participate in special summer programmes with the Pembroke-King’s summer programme at the University of Cambridge or the Exeter Summer Programme at the University of Oxford.
  • Priority placement for exchange programmes with top Computer Science universities around the world.
  • Exclusive research and mentoring opportunities with top researchers from the School of Computing and Information Systems
  • An optional concurrent SMU’s Master of Science in Computing with full coverage of tuition fees
  • Participation in development opportunities as well as alumni networking & mentoring opportunities offered by the School of Computing and Information Systems
  • Scholarship is bond-free
