About the Grant

The SMU Work-Study Grant (WSG) Scheme offers undergraduate students with financial need a chance to earn some income by working at the University, supported through the Grant, while learning useful skills in the process.  It is one of the work activities approved under the SMU Work on Campus Scheme to train full-time students in real-life work conditions through on-campus work opportunities.

The WSG Scheme is co-funded by a generous contribution by Dr Lillyn Teh, which also supported the Lillyn Teh Endeavour Scholarship and the Lillyn Teh Endeavour Study Award.

Quantum

Up to $22.00 per hour

Eligibility Criteria

  • Financially challenged full-time undergraduate students who utilised available loan schemes/subsidies of up to 100% of the tuition fees payable by Singaporean students
  • Gross monthly household per capita income not exceeding $2,700 or with evidence of family financial difficulties
  • Students in receipt of scholarships/study awards/study grants/bursaries covering annual subsidised tuition fees and paying monthly/annual living allowance may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Application

  • Direct application is not required
  • Eligibility may be assessed via annual bursary applications acceptance (apply at either one of the two windows in the same year, not both) via student portal, OASIS (self-service App "Financial Aid Application"), using student computer account username and password – 1 January to 31 March or 1 May to 31 July
