About the Financial Award

Established in 2024, the Bold Book Grant is available to full-time undergraduates from the School of Computing and Information Systems.  It aims to encourage bright, full-time undergraduate students enrolled at the University to aspire for academic excellence in spite of adversity and financial hardship.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time undergraduates from the School of Computing and Information Systems
  • Singapore Citizen
  • Active involvement and/or leadership positions in any co-curricular activities (CCAs) 
  • Have demonstrated evidence of family household income (with gross monthly household per capita income in accordance with prevailing guidelines to qualify for government bursaries)

Benefits

  • $2,000 (cash allowance)
  • Tenable for one year of study
  • May be in concurrent receipt of a bursary for cash allowance, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria.

Application 

Shortlisting of candidates for consideration will be from the list of applicants applying for SMU-administered bursaries in the year of award.

About the Donor

The Bold Book Grant is established by Sim Cher Boon (BSc(ISM) 2021 & MSc(Computing 2021) in 2024, for students who are bold in taking challenges and making changes to themselves, and create a positive change and promote progress in others.
