About the Financial Award

Established in 2020, the Chua Family Bursary is to assist the financially needy undergraduates at the University to achieve academic excellence.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time undergraduates enrolled in any degree programme
  • Singapore Citizens
  • With demonstrated financial needs (with a gross monthly per capita income in accordance with prevailing Ministry of Education guidelines)
  • With evidence of demonstrated financial difficulties in the family
  • Lives in a HDB flat no larger than a 4-room type

Benefits

  • $8,000 (towards subsidised tuition fee)
  • Tenable for one year of study
  • May be in concurrent receipt of another bursary for cash allowance, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria

Application

Shortlisting of candidates for consideration will be from the list of applicants applying for SMU-administered bursaries in the year of award.

About the Donor

The Chua Family Bursary is made possible by Ms Christina Tan and her husband Mr Jack Chua. The bursary is available to full-time Singaporean undergraduates at the Singapore Management University.  It is aimed at motivating and encouraging undergraduate students to achieve greater heights of academic and practical excellence.
