About the Financial Award

The IWA Vidya Scholarship is made possible by the Indian Women's Association Singapore to encourage undergraduates who are pursuing full-time tertiary studies at Singapore Management University to strive for academic and professional excellence. 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time undergraduates in any degree programme
  • Singaporean or Singaporean Permanent Residents, or foreign students from emerging economies in South East Asia (Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and India).
  • Good academic results (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00)
  • Demonstrated evidence of family household income (with gross monthly household per capita income in accordance with prevailing guidelines to qualify for government bursaries)

Benefits

  • $6,500 (towards subsidised tuition fees)
  • Tenable for one year of study
  • May be in concurrent receipt of a bursary for cash allowance, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria.

About the Donor

The Indian Women's Association was founded in 1998 and endeavours to bring the Indian community in Singapore together by giving them a platform to support, network and integrate with the wider community of Singapore. IWA's mission is to CONNECT with the community at large in Singapore through I CARE volunteer programs and to CELEBRATE the talent of Indian women in Singapore. Through this scholarship, the Indian Women's Association is making a small contribution to the multicultural ethos of Singaporean society by motivating and empowering exceptional students of Singapore to achieve their fullest potential.
