About the Financial Award
Established in 2022, the JLFO-Lim Hoon Foundation Scholarship is available to full-time undergraduates at the Singapore Management University. It is aimed at supporting undergraduates with demonstrated financial needs to achieve academic excellence and to accord appropriate recognition to the recipients for their accomplishments.
Eligibility Criteria
- Full-time incoming undergraduates enrolled in the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, School of Accountancy, School of Economics, School of Social Sciences or School of Computing and Information Systems.
- Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Possess demonstrated leadership potential
- Demonstrated evidence of family financial hardships (with gross monthly household per capita income in accordance with prevailing guidelines to qualify for government bursaries).
Benefits
- $10,000 per annum (towards subsidised tuition fees and study-related expenses)
- Tenable for up to 4 years of the recipient’s academic studies, subject to continued observance of the eligibility criteria and the terms and conditions of award.
- May be in concurrent receipt of a bursary for cash allowance, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria (for Singaporean students only).
Learning and Development Opportunities
Recipients are encouraged to participate in community service and corporate social responsibility activities, in particular, for year 2 and 3 students to hold leadership positions in the LHF Scholars Circle.

Prospective Students
Applicants interested to be considered for this scholarship are to indicate interest in the Scholarship section of the online application form for admission. There is no separate scholarship application form.
Special consideration for this scholarship will be given to applicants with demonstrated financial needs. Applicants must also submit a separate financial aid application. This can be done via Applicant’s Self Service, after submitting the online application for admission. Prospective applicants may submit their financial aid application when it opens for its annual exercise from 1 January to 31 May.
