About the Donor

The children of Madam Lim Pu Leh have established this bursary in memory of their beloved mother, the late Mdm Lim Pu Leh.

Widowed at a young age, Madam Lim single-handedly raised three young children through hard work, perseverance and enterprise.  She was an excellent role model for her children, inculcating good values of caring and sharing with others in need, despite their financially- challenged circumstances.  Her children depended on financial aid provided by clan associations and education institutions to see them through their education. With deep appreciation for the financial help that they had received, they are committed to the values of paying it forward to support many more talented, young individuals at SMU in their educational pursuits.  To remember their Malaysian roots, the family have requested that the bursary be given to financially-challenged Malaysian students hailing from Malaysia.
