About the Financial Award

The Singapore Leong Khay Huay Kuan Bursary is available to full-time Singaporean undergraduates at the Singapore Management University.  It aims to provide financial assistance to financially disadvantaged students in the financing of their education.

The award will be presented to the recipients at a ceremony organised by the Donor.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time SMU undergraduates enrolled in any degree programme
  • Singapore Citizens
  • With demonstrated evidence of family financial hardships (with gross monthly household per capita income in accordance with prevailing guidelines to qualify for government bursaries)

Tenure and Benefits

  • $3,000 (towards subsidised tuition fee)
  • Tenable for one year of study
  • May be in concurrent receipt of another bursary for cash allowance, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria.

Application

Shortlisting of candidates for consideration will be from the list of applicants applying for SMU-administered bursaries in the year of award.

About the Donor

Established in 1939, the Singapore Leong Khay Huay Kuan (新加坡龙溪会馆) is a more than 200-member clan association with its roots traced to China’s Fujian province.  The Huay Kuan aims to preserve the Chinese language and culture, and promote education and social welfare, benefitting the Hokkien community in Singapore and the Singapore society at large.
