About the Award

Established in 2000, the EY Outstanding Student Leader Award is given annually to a top graduating Bachelor of Accountancy student from the School of Accountancy (SOA) at the Singapore Management University.

The award will be presented at the SMU Commencement Ceremony (SOA Undergraduate Ceremony).

Eligibility Criteria

The award will be given to a top graduating Bachelor of Accountancy student based on the following criteria:

  • Academic Achievements: The candidate must be within the top 5% of the graduating Bachelor of Accountancy cohort.
  • Leadership Qualities: The candidate must have held leadership appointments and have demonstrated good leadership qualities

​Good leadership qualities refer to well-rounded leadership attributes demonstrated when holding appointments that require the student to lead, motivate, mentor and organize activities in the areas of:

  • SMU Activities – Student & Faculty Activities
  • Activities outside SMU – Community, Religious, and/or Social Activities; and Military Activities (where applicable).

The award will only be given if there is a candidate of sufficient merit.

Benefits

Certificate, Gold Medal and Cash Prize (totalling $1,750)

Application

  • Applications will be invited in Term 2 annually.
  • Interested applicants must provide documentary evidence of leadership, CCA involvements, and contribution to the university or the community.
  • Recipient will be determined by SOA.
