About The Scholarship

Funded by an endowed contribution by Ms Penchan Lim and friends of the late Mr Lim Hang Hing, the Lim Hang Hing Scholarship is available to undergraduate students from the School of Social Sciences at the Singapore Management University.

The scholarship is aimed at motivating students to achieve greater heights of excellence.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time incoming freshman of any nationality enrolled in the School of Social Sciences
  • Good academic performance
  • Active involvement in CCA and/or community service
  • Good leadership skills and character records
  • With demonstrated financial needs

Benefits

  • $12,000 per annum (towards subsidised tuition fees)
  • Tenable for the recipient's duration of studies (up to four years), subject to continued observance of the eligibility criteria and the terms and conditions of award

Conditions of Award

  • The recipient is encouraged to, at a meaningful point in their life, extend similar acts of generosity to those in need
  • Singaporean students may be in concurrent receipt of a government bursary, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria
  • The Recipient must not hold any other awards of similar nature during the tenure of the Award, except with the prior written approval of the University

Special consideration is given to applicants with financial needs. After you have submitted your admission application. You are required to submit a separate bursary application form via the Applicant’s Self Service from 1 January 1 to 31 May
