About the Award
The Rajan Rishyakaran Debating Excellence Award, funded from the proceeds of the Rajan Rishyakaran Debating Award Fund, is established in memory of the late SMU student, Rajan Rishyakaran. It enshrines Rajan for his passion towards debate and his invaluable contributions as past President of the SMU Debating Society. The establishment of the fund also provides the SMU Debating Society the opportunity to reward debater and adjudicator for their excellence performances at significant debating competitions.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible candidates will be assessed by the SMU Debating Society for the respective awards based on their performances at specified benchmark competitions in one academic year.
The awards will be given only if there are candidates of sufficient merit.

Certificate and Cash Prize of $755 each:
