What is the Dato’ Kho Hui Meng Young Scholars Programme about?

The Dato’ Kho Hui Meng Young Scholars Programme is a highly selective January immersion programme in Singapore, hosted by the Singapore Management University. Students who are awarded the scholarship to attend the programme will have the opportunity to take classes in technology and business on the SMU campus, meet members of the SMU community, and experience living and learning in Singapore. The programme is fully funded through the generous support of Dato’ Kho Hui Meng, and all expenses (tuition, accommodation, sightseeing, meals) will be covered by the scholarship, including a stipend for travel to Singapore. The scholarship is bond-free.

How to Apply

How to Apply to the Dato’ Kho Hui Meng Young Scholars Programme?

The Dato’ Kho Hui Meng Young Scholars Programme will take place from 15 January to 25 January 2025.

In the inaugural 2025 edition of the programme, we will be offering a limited number of spaces to top students from high schools in Indonesia, Malaysia and Myanmar.

As the programme is highly selective, students must first be recommended by their high school before they can apply. Once your high school has nominated you to SMU, we will send you an online application form to complete.

If you are shortlisted for an interview, interviews will take place online, via Zoom, in October/November 2024. All interviews will be conducted fully in English.

Admissions decisions will be released by end-November 2024. As there is a limited number of places available in the programme, not all interviewed candidates will be offered the scholarship.
