Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple Emergency Grant

About the Financial Award

Established in 2016 by the Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple, the Grant provides one-off financial assistance to undergraduates at the Singapore Management University requiring immediate and interim financial assistance, having been faced with unforeseen crises which resulted in financial difficulties in their families.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full time undergraduates enrolled in any degree programme
  • Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident
  • Facing unforeseen crisis which resulted in financial hardship in the families (not exceeding the gross monthly household per capita income in accordance with the prevailing income level for government-funded bursaries) [Priority will be given to students with verified per capita income (PCI) and/or Gross Household Income (GHI)]

Tenure and Benefits

  • Between $2,000 and $5,000 (depending on the level of financial difficulties)
  • Tenable for one year of study

Conditions of Award

  • The Recipient must submit a bursary application to validate their household income
  • The applicant may receive the grant only once during a single academic year
  • The same applicant cannot be awarded the grant more than once for the same reason
