About the Award
Established in 2024, this scholarship will nurture graduates who will reshape industries, drive innovation, and create meaningful impact in society. Underpinning the scholarship is the conviction that the new generation of changemakers must be equipped to think across disciplines, integrate diverse perspectives, and apply knowledge to solve complex real-world challenges. This reflects Dr Lillyn Teh’s own background in Finance and Computer Science, and her belief that education is the cornerstone of shaping future pathways for young people, as well as a powerful catalyst for talent development driving economic progress.
Eligibility Criteria
- Full‑time incoming freshmen
- Enrolled in:
Either the School of Computing and Information Systems (SCIS), or the Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB), with a second major in the other school. - Primarily open to Singapore Citizens
In exceptional cases, Singapore Permanent Residents or international students may be considered, subject to donor approval and the availability of suitable candidates - Strong academic results
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills, with involvement in co‑curricular activities (CCA) and/or community service

Signature Features of the Scholars Programme
- To foster a cohesive community, scholars will tackle a selection of modules together, specifically chosen to bridge the gap between technical systems and organizational management.
- A multi-tiered mentorship programme designed to cultivate both professional and personal growth:
1. Opportunities to engage with Dr. Lillyn Teh, gaining insights from her unique expertise in Computer Science and Global Finance.
2. Access to an exclusive circle of prominent alumni and industry leaders at the cutting-edge intersection of technology and business.
Conditions of Award
- Recipients are expected to contribute to the scholarship community by:
1. Completing the integrated internship and global exposure opportunity.
2. Developing leadership capabilities by guiding junior scholars and supporting their academic journey.
3. Serving as ambassadors at scholars networking and mentoring events.
4. Contributing to the scholars programme’s networking initiatives even after graduation to ensure a robust, ongoing professional circle. - The Recipient must not hold any other awards of similar nature during the tenure of the Award, except with the prior written approval of the University

About the Donor
Dr Lillyn Teh has long been a strong advocate for education as the cornerstone of shaping future pathways for young individuals. With her background in Finance and Computer Science, both as an academic and a practitioner with diverse industry experience, she has witnessed how the blending of the two disciplines has provided unique perspectives, facilitating the application of different tools and concepts to classic problems and new challenges.
Dr Teh was very fortunate to have benefitted from her parents' strong support and encouragement for her own educational journey and wishes to give back by enabling access to quality education which can help to realise the full potential of young people.
She believes very strongly that education is a catalyst for social mobility and economic prosperity and supports meaningful learning opportunities and initiatives that encourage curiosity, creativity and critical thinking. Dr Teh is committed to making a significant and lasting impact on individuals and communities in the University's educational journey, and seeks to make a difference in building a brighter future for generations to come.
Dr Teh was an educator and taught at two American universities before joining the private sector, including managing one of the largest US pension funds and responsible for US$60b in global equities. She is currently happily retired.
