Lillyn Teh Endeavour Study Award (Endowed)

About the Financial Award

Established in 2026, the Lillyn Teh Endeavour Study Award (Endowed) is available to full-time undergraduates at the Singapore Management University.  It aims to support the students enrolled at the University to help address their financial needs.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time first year undergraduates enrolled in any degree programme
  • Any nationality
  • With demonstrated evidence of family financial hardships (with gross monthly household per capita income in accordance with prevailing Higher Education Community Bursary Tier 1 guidelines)

Benefits

  • $10,000 per year (towards subsidised tuition fee)
  • Tenable for up to four years of study, subject to the recipient’s continued observance of the eligibility criteria and the terms and conditions of award

Conditions of Award

  • May be in concurrent receipt of a government bursary, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria
  • The Recipient must not hold any other awards of similar nature during the tenure of the Award, except with the prior written approval of the University

Application

Shortlisting of candidates for consideration will be from the list of applicants applying for SMU-administered bursaries in the year of award.

About the Donor

Dr Lillyn Teh is a strong advocate for education as the cornerstone of shaping future pathways for young people. With a background in Finance and Computer Science, and experience as both an academic and a industry practitioner, she brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to solving classic problems and new challenges.

Grateful for the strong support of her parents throughout her educational and professional journey, Dr Teh is committed to giving back by expanding access to quality education that empowers young people to reach their full potential. She believes that education is a powerful catalyst for social mobility and economic progress, and champions meaningful initiatives that foster curiosity, creativity and critical thinking.

Dr Teh taught at two American universities before moving into the private sector, where she managed one of the largest US pension funds. Now happily retired, she remains dedicated to making a meaningful and lasting impact on individuals and communities, helping to shape a brighter future for generations to come.
