"I think SMU has made me a more outgoing person and a vocal person! People say SMU students always have an answer ready for you and it stems from the unique experiences and teaching style that SMU provides."

Why did you choose to come to SMU?

I chose SMU because of its seminar-style teaching method, its location and its emphasis on multi-disciplinary knowledge.

Why did you choose your field of study / degree programme?

I chose Bsc Software Engineering (SE) because of how much more technical it is relative to other SCIS majors, SE students take far more technical modules and have to go for a mandatory 1 year apprenticeship as compared to a single internship. Having anchor partners was companies like GovTech and NCS was another selling point for me. Furthermore, other than the Software Engineering core modules that focus on the technical aspect, I could also upgrade my soft skills through the SMU core modules. Combined with anchor partners and apprenticeship, you get a very good mix of soft and technical skills.

What is your favourite spot on campus?

Walkway connecting SMU Connexion to School of Law. The view outside from the walkway is very cathartic.
