About the Donor
Established by Pecan Foundation which is the family office of Hong Kong real estate executive Dr. Justin K H Chiu, the endowed Rita Chiu HK Overseas Exchange Grant (named after one of the founders and also Dr. Chiu’s wife) aims to enable undergraduate students to embark on semester-long exchange programmes with partner universities in Hong Kong, so as to become more well-rounded individuals with global worldviews. Apart from hoping that these students would gain a better understanding of Hong Kong, the couple—through their Foundation—seeks to foster stronger friendship and educational ties between Singapore and Hong Kong. Incidentally, Dr. Justin & Rita Chiu’s son, Ronald, is an SMU alumnus, who graduated from the Master in Wealth Management programme in 2010.
