About the Award

Established in 2020, the prestigious CPI Valedictorian Award (formerly the SPH Valedictorian Award) is given annually to the highest-ranking undergraduate student from the graduating cohort at the Singapore Management University.  The Award is aimed at recognising exceptional students and to spur them on to achieve greater heights of excellence.

The Award will be presented at the SMU Commencement Ceremony.  The winner will deliver the Valedictorian Address on behalf of the graduating body of students.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates vying for the Award must meet the following criteria:

  • Achieved a summa cum laude
  • Outstanding leadership skills, with significant contributions to co-curricular activities and the community at large
  • Good character records
  • Excellent oratorical skills

The Award will only be given if there is a candidate of sufficient merit.

Benefits

Certificate, a Trophy and $5,000 Cash Prize

Application

  • Applications will be invited in Term 2 annually
  • Interested applicants must provide documentary evidence in support of fulfilment of eligibility criteria
