About the Financial Award

Established in 2014, the Aljunied Study Grant is aimed at assisting needy full-time undergraduates at the Singapore Management University and to motivate them to achieve all-round excellence.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time undergraduates enrolled in any degree programme
  • Any nationality
  • Gross monthly per capita household income not exceeding $1,700 or evidence of family financial difficulties [Priority will be given to students with verified per capita income (PCI) and/or Gross Household Income (GHI)]

Benefits

  • $2,000 per annum (towards subsidised tuition fees)
  • Tenable for one year of study

Conditions of Award

  • The Recipient must submit a bursary application to validate their household income
  • The Recipient may be in concurrent receipt of a government bursary, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria
  • The Recipient must not hold any other awards of similar nature during the tenure of the Award, except with the prior written approval of the University
  • The Recipient in receipt of a scholarship, study award or bursary may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Application

Shortlisting of candidates for consideration will be from the list of applicants applying for SMU-administered bursaries in the year of award.

The Aljunied Study Grant is made possible by Mr Syed Abdel Nasser Bin Syed Hassan Aljunied to provide financial assistance to full-time undergraduates at SMU.  With the Study Grant, he hopes to inspire SMU students to strive for all-round excellence and achieve their fullest potential.
