“SMU has a wide international community ranging from cultural clubs to different cuisines located on the campus. I have met a lot of international students who have become close friends, from my CCA to PSR Co-living, and it helps to get to know more about their culture.”

What has been the highlight of your student life at SMU so far?

The main highlight of my student life so far at SMU has been joining the organising committee for ASoc Camp 2022 (Accounting Society). I was able to meet and collaborate with people who became close friends and give the incoming freshman the opportunity to experience a physical camp for the first time since COVID-19.

What is the most Singaporean habit you have picked up?

“Chope-ing” tables with my umbrella.

What advice would you give to other international students who are thinking of applying to SMU?

Do your research, join networking sessions with people from SMU, and get insight from people on social networks like Reddit or Twitter about what life is like at SMU and whether SMU is right for you. If you are set on applying to SMU, communicate well with your family and counsellors about your plans so they can help you plan out your future (like financials, recommendation letters etc.).
