About the Financial Award

Established in 2019, the Andy Chua and Family China Innovation Immersion Award is available to full-time undergraduates  at the Singapore Management University.  The objective is to provide undergraduates the opportunity to embark on overseas programmes.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time undergraduates enrolled in any programme of study
  • Any nationality
  • Pursuing an overseas internship opportunity in the People's Republic of China
  • Effectively bilingual in English and Mandarin (preference for students who took Higher Chinese at GCE 'O' Levels or equivalent)
  • Preference for students who have not embarked on any overseas programmes

Tenure and Benefits

  • $1,500 each to cover internship-related expenses (including airfare, visa and travel insurance)

About the Donor

The Andy Chua and Family China Innovation Award is set up by Mr Andy Chua and his family, to support Innovation and Entrepreneurship.  Funded by a generous donation from Mr Andy Chua, the award supports overseas internship with high growth companies in China.  Mr Chua believes China today is a leader in innovation and entrepreneurship.  This overseas internship programme would be a life-changing experience that broadens students’ horizons and exponentially and helps in character-building.  He hopes that through this, students are inspired to innovate, build their own business, foster new friendships and build a network of international connections.
