About the Donor

Established in 2022, the Cheng Sok Theng Bursary is made possible by Ms Cheng Sok Theng. Ms Cheng is a UK qualified lawyer who came from an under-privileged background. As part of her philanthropic outreach, she has taken a special interest in supporting the less privileged in the country she loves.

The bursary is available to full-time Singaporean undergraduates at the Singapore Management University. This is an extension of Ms Cheng’s desire to motivate and encourage undergraduate students to achieve greater heights of academic and practical excellence. The bursary with SMU is based on her belief that students with potential should be given the opportunity to obtain higher education so as to build a meaningful future for themselves and their family; thereby contributing towards building a caring and sustainable society.
