About the Financial Award

Established in 2020, the study award is available to full-time undergraduates at the Singapore Management University.  It is aimed at providing financial assistance to needy undergraduates to aspire for greater heights of excellence in spite of adversity and financial hardship.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time undergraduates in any degree programme
  • Any nationality
  • Experienced financial hardships in the family (with gross monthly household per capita income in accordance with prevailing limit to qualify for government bursaries)

Benefits

  • $8,500 per annum (towards subsidised tuition fee and study-related expenses)
  • Tenable for one year of study
  • May be in concurrent receipt of a bursary for cash allowance, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria.

Application

Shortlisting of candidates for consideration will be from the list of applicants applying for SMU-administered bursaries in the year of award.

About the Donor

The Han C.F Study Award is established by Mr Han Koon Juan in honour of his late father, Mr Han C.F, who founded Tee Hai Chem Pte Ltd, a 50-year-old family business providing transformative supply chain solutions for materials, chemicals & services for the life sciences, electronics manufacturing and research & diagnostics sectors in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

With a firm belief in making a difference for the community, Mr Han Koon Juan continues his father's legacy of helping the less privileged through a myriad of charitable initiatives, particularly education.
