About the Financial Award

Established in 2022, the Jakkie Choo-Tradecom SMU-X Overseas Exposure Grant is available to full-time undergraduates at the Singapore Management University.  It aims to provide undergraduates the opportunity to obtain an invaluable learning experience and an international and global mindset by embarking on SMU XO Overseas Exposure programmes.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time undergraduates  enrolled in any degree programme and in any year of study
  • Any nationality
  • Must be embarking on an SMU-X Overseas Exposure programme
  • Have demonstrated evidence of family household income where the gross monthly per capita income is in accordance with prevailing guidelines to qualify for government bursaries 
  • Preference will be given to students who have not embarked on any overseas student programmes

Benefits

  • $1,000 each (financial support towards expenses including air tickets, accommodation, living expenses, visa, insurance, health check-ups/vaccines, and/or study related expenses)
  • Tenable for the approved SMU-X Overseas Exposure programme

About the Donor

The Jakkie Choo – Tradecom SMU-X Overseas Exposure Grant is set up by Tradecom Services Pte Ltd in honour of the late Ms Jakkie Choo, who was a long-serving employee of the organisation from its beginning till her passing in 2022.  As an individual who loved travelling and exploring the unknowns, the grant serves as a platform to encourage anyone and everyone to discover something different and experience the world beyond Singapore.
