About the Financial Award

Established in 2016, the Jumabhoy Study Award seeks to provide financial assistance to needy full-time undergraduates at the Singapore Management University.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time undergraduates enrolled in any degree programme
  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • With demonstrable financial needs (with gross monthly household per capita income in accordance with prevailing limit to qualify for government bursaries)
  • Should demonstrate excellence in areas of student life and community involvement

Benefits

  • $10,666 per year (towards subsidised tuition fee)
  • Tenable for one year of study

Conditions of Award

  • May be in concurrent receipt of a government bursary, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria
  • The Recipient must not hold any other awards of similar nature during the tenure of the Award, except with the prior written approval of the University

Application

Shortlisting of candidates for consideration will be from the list of applicants applying for SMU-administered bursaries in the year of award.

About the Donor

The Jumabhoy Study Award is an endowed contribution made by The Rajabali Jumabhoy Foundation Ltd to provide financial assistance to full-time Singaporean undergraduates studying at the Singapore Management University.

The late Mr Rajabali Jumabhoy was a prominent Singaporean businessman and patriarch of the Jumabhoy family.  Established in 1992, The Rajabali Jumabhoy Foundation Ltd was set up with funds contributed by members of the Jumabhoy family.  Ameerali Jumabhoy is the current Chairman of the Foundation.
