About the Financial Award

Established in 2025, the Justice, Mercy, Humility Study Award is available to full-time undergraduates at the Singapore Management University.  It aims to encourage undergraduates enrolled at the Yong Pung How School of Law of the University to aspire for academic excellence in spite of adversity and financial hardship.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time undergraduates from the Yong Pung How School of Law 
  • Any nationality
  • Demonstrated evidence of financial need (with gross monthly household per capita income in accordance with prevailing guidelines to qualify for government bursaries)

Tenure and Benefits

  • $13,333 (towards subsidised tuition fee)
  • Tenable for one year of study
  • May be in concurrent receipt of a government bursary, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria

Application

Shortlisting of candidates for consideration will be from the list of applicants applying for SMU-administered bursaries in the year of award.

About the Donor

The Justice, Mercy, Humility Study Award and Overseas Internship Grants are established by Mr. Yeong Zee Kin and his wife Ms. Audrey Chiang. The Study Award and Grants are named after the theme verse of the Varsity Christian Fellowship where they met when they were in law school. The donors hope to encourage these values in each student recipient.
