About the Donor
The KMVCL Scholarship is supported by husband and wife, Kenny Mah (BSc(Econs), 2007) and Valerie Loh (BAcc, 2007), both of whom are SMU alumni from the School of Economics and the School of Accountancy, respectively. In 2016, the couple established their first scholarship to support financially challenged students, pursuing an overseas exchange programme, to commemorate their 10th-year anniversary of graduation from SMU. Their journey of philanthropy has inspired them to renew their support for their alma mater with a new gift of a scholarship to support financially challenged students in their pursuit of education as they believe that no deserving student should be deprived of quality education due to financial considerations.
Kenny and Valerie hope that the recipients of scholarships that they had supported will benefit from the SMU experience that they had as students and be inspired to pay it forward in the future, in their own ways.
