About the Donor

Alumnus Keeve Tan (MBA 2016, MWM 2022) is a senior finance professional who is a strong advocate of education and of giving back. Regularly sought for his views on platforms like Bloomberg, Nasdaq and Business Times, Keeve speaks regularly on international panels and is part of the advisory board on a major Foreign Exchange network. Coming from a modest Singapore family, he attributes his success to the support from those around him, believing in hard work and equal opportunity for all, regardless of one’s family background. Keeve takes his inspiration from his father, Mr. Tan Joke See, who believed that a child should never worry about the lack of finances, but instead focus on studying to do well later in life. In this spirit, Keeve contributes as a member of the SMU Alumni Philanthropy Council, and mentors students annually with SMU. With the establishment of the Keeve Tan Endowed Study Award, he aims to enable students to excel in their studies, so that they too get an equal chance to excel later in their lives.
