About the Financial Award

Established in 2023, the Khoo Hock Tin Study Award is available to full-time undergraduates at the Singapore Management University to encourage them to aspire for academic excellence in spite of adversity and financial hardship.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time undergraduates enrolled in any degree programme
  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • With demonstrated financial needs (with gross monthly household per capita income in accordance with prevailing guidelines to qualify for government bursaries)

Benefits

  • $8,000 per annum (towards annual subsidised tuition fees)
  • Tenable for one year of study

Conditions of Award

  • May be in concurrent receipt of a government bursary, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria
  • The Recipient must not hold any other awards of similar nature during the tenure of the Award, except with the prior written approval of the University
     

Application

Shortlisting of candidates for consideration will be from the list of applicants applying for SMU-administered bursaries in the year of award.

The Khoo Hock Tin Study Award is established by Mr Khoo Hock Tin to motivate outstanding undergraduates at the University, with demonstrated financial needs, to spur them to greater heights of academic excellence and to accord appropriate recognition to the recipients of the Study Award for their accomplishments.
