About the Financial Award

Established in 2022, the Lee Sit Ngian Study Award is available to full-time undergraduates at the Singapore Management University.  It aims to encourage bright undergraduates to aspire for academic excellence in spite of adversity and financial hardship.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time undergraduates enrolled in any degree programme
  • Singapore Citizens 
  • With demonstrated financial needs (with gross monthly household per capita income in accordance with prevailing guidelines to qualify for government bursaries)

Benefits

  • $8,000 per annum (towards subsidised tuition fees)
  • Tenable for one year of study
  • May be in concurrent receipt of a bursary for cash allowance, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria.

Application

Shortlisting of candidates for consideration will be from the list of applicants applying for SMU-administered bursaries in the year of award.

About the Donor

The Study Award is established in 2022 in memory of the late Mr Lee Sit Ngian by his sons, Mr Lee Yoong Waay and Mr Lee Yoong Keok.  Yoong Waay graduated with a degree from Monash University and Yoong Keok obtained a PhD from MIT.  They are grateful for the many financial assistance that paved way for their education which their parents had greatly valued.  They wish students every success and hope the award inspires them to contribute back to the community and the society in the future.
