About the Financial Award
Established in 2023, the Mr & Mrs Ko Oen Tjiang Scholarship is available to full-time undergraduates from the School of Accountancy at the Singapore Management University. It aims to motivate outstanding undergraduates, with demonstrated financial needs, to spur them on to greater heights of academic excellence and to accord appropriate recognition to the recipients for their accomplishments.
Eligibility Criteria
- Full-time first-year undergraduates enrolled in the Bachelor of Accountancy programme
- Singapore Citizens
- Good academic results and CCA and/or community service involvement
- With demonstrated financial hardships (gross monthly per capita income in accordance with prevailing income thresholds to qualify for bursaries)
Benefits
- $12,500 per annum (towards subsidised tuition fees and study-related expenses)
- Tenable for up to 4 years of the recipient’s academic studies, subject to continued observance of the eligibility criteria and the terms and conditions of award.
- May be in concurrent receipt of a bursary for cash allowance, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria.
Application
Admissions Applicants
Applicants interested to be considered for this scholarship are to indicate interest in the Scholarship section of the online application form for admission. There is no separate scholarship application form.
Special consideration for this scholarship will be given to applicants with demonstrated financial needs. Applicants must also submit a separate financial aid application. This can be done via Applicant’s Self Service, after submitting the online application for admission. Prospective applicants may submit their financial aid application when it opens for its annual exercise from 1 January to 31 May.

About the Donor
The Mr & Mrs Ko Oen Tjiang Scholarship is established by Mr Ko Oen Tjiang to motivate outstanding undergraduates who are enrolled at the University’s School of Accountancy and to spur them to greater heights of academic excellence.
Mr Ko, who met Mrs Ko while they were studying to be professional accountants in the United Kingdom, would like to support and mentor students who are passionate to pursue a professional career in this field.
