About the Financial Award

Established in 2022, the Pesi B Davar Memorial Study Award is available to full-time undergraduates at the Singapore Management University. It is aimed at providing financial assistance for students from the School of Computing and Information Systems, School of Accountancy and Lee Kong Chian School of Business.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Undergraduates from the School of Computing and Information Systems, College of Integrative Studies, School of Accountancy and Lee Kong Chian School of Business.
  • Singapore Citizens
  • Of good character but who by reason of their financial circumstances are unable to pay for or continue to pay for studies at the University.
  • With gross monthly household per capita income in accordance with prevailing guidelines to qualify for government bursaries.

Benefits

  • $2,000 per annum (towards subsidised tuition fees)
  • Tenable for one year of study
  • May be in concurrent receipt of a bursary for cash allowance, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria.

Application

Shortlisting of candidates for consideration will be from the list of applicants applying for SMU-administered bursaries in the year of award.

About the Donor

The Pesi B Davar Memorial Fund, established in 1997, in honour of the late Mr Davar, will support Study Awards for financially disadvantaged Singapore Citizens pursuing an undergraduate degree in Technology, Accountancy or Business at SMU.

The late Mr Pesi B Davar was a prominent member of the local Parsee community and his vision was to provide for needy members of the society.  This Study Award was set up to ensure that no students would be deprived of an education due to their financial circumstances.
