About the Financial Award

Established in 2022, the Red Hat Scholarship is available to full-time undergraduates from the School of Computing & Information Systems at the Singapore Management University.  It is aimed at motivating undergraduates enrolled in either the Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) programme and specialising in Cyber-Physical Systems or Cybersecurity Tracks; or the Bachelor of Science (Software Engineering) SkillsFuture Work-Study Degree programme, to spur them on to greater heights of academic excellence and to accord appropriate recognition to the scholarship recipients for their accomplishments.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time undergraduates from the School of Computing & Information Systems
  • Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident
  • Proceeding to third year of study
  • Enrolled in either the Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) programme and specialising in Cyber-Physical Systems or Cybersecurity Tracks, or the Bachelor of Science (Software Engineering) SkillsFuture Work-Study Degree programme
  • Good academic achievements (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.40)

Benefits

  • $12,000 per annum (towards subsidised tuition fees)
  • Tenable for one year of study

Conditions of Award

  • Singaporean students may be in concurrent receipt of a government bursary, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria
  • The Recipient must not hold any other awards of similar nature during the tenure of the Award, except with the prior written approval of the University 

Learning and Development Opportunities

Recipients may be offered internship opportunity by the Donor under mutually agreed terms, but acceptance of the internship is not required
