About the Financial Award

Established in 2021, the Steve Tay Endowed Scholarship is available to full-time Singaporean undergraduates at the Singapore Management University. The objective is to assist financially needy undergraduates to achieve academic excellence. 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time undergraduates in any degree programme
  • Singapore citizens
  • Good academic results (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00)
  • Must be of good character and conduct
  • Demonstrated evidence of family financial hardships (with gross monthly household per capita income in accordance with prevailing guidelines to qualify for government bursaries)

Benefits

  • $12,032 (towards subsidized tuition fees and study-related expenses)
  • Tenable for one year of study
  • May be in concurrent receipt of a bursary for cash allowance, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria

Mr Steve Tay is co-founder of Steve Tay Real Estate Pte Ltd. He represents some of the most well-heeled clients in the region and their realty needs. Steve has always believed in education as the best leveler in society. Having come from a modest family background, he feels that all that he has achieved would not have been possible if he had not received the same kindness previously. He hopes that his contribution would help financially challenged students to gain back their focus, to excel in their studies and build a bright future for themselves.
