Yong Pung How School of Law Book Allowance

About the Grant

Supported by funds contributed by the Yong Pung How School of Law's faculty, members of the legal fraternity and the community at large, including the recently established YPHSL Community Fund in response to Covid-19, the book allowance scheme is available to undergraduates studying full-time at the Singapore Management University.   Up to 25 book allowance grants may be awarded annually.

Eligibility 

  • Full-time undergraduates from the Yong Pung How School of Law 
  • Full-time undergraduates enrolled in BSc (Computing and Law) from the School of Computing and Information Systems 
  • Any nationality
  • Monthly household per capita income of no more than $1,900 or evidence of family financial difficulties

Quantum

  • $200 per award; applicable for both Term 1 and 2 of each Academic Year
  • Tenable for one year of study

Conditions of Award

  • Only books approved by the YPHSL’s Dean/Associate Dean can be purchased
  • Allowance is disbursed on a reimbursement basis subject to submission of proof of purchase

Repayment

  • No repayment is required.
  • A student who withdraws from SMU is required to repay the grant, except if special approval is given by the YPHSL’s Dean's Office

Application 

YPHSL will send out the application details in Term 1.
