About the Award

Supported by Associate Professor Low Aik Meng, the AMLow Trailblazer Award is given annually to recognise innovative students at the Singapore Management University who have gone out of the way to make significant contributions that impact the University or the community at large.

Eligibility Criteria

Students who have blazed the trail by spearheading and managing extraordinary initiatives to enhance the welfare of SMU students or the distinctiveness of SMU student life; to support student integration efforts; to champion social or environmental causes locally or in overseas communities; and/or to enhance the image of SMU are invited to apply.

In addition, interested applicants must:

  • Possess leadership qualities during his/her undergraduate study at the University;
  • Demonstrate exemplary conduct and embody the SMU CIRCLE Values of Commitment, Integrity, Responsibility, Collegiality, Leadership and Excellence;
  • Display creativity and possess the ability to inspire those whom he/she works with; and
  • Possess courage to challenge the norm to pursue initiatives for the good of the SMU community or the larger community.

The award will only be given if there is a candidate of sufficient merit.
