About the Financial Award

The Antonio Borges Scholarship for Outstanding Undergraduate Student is funded by the proceeds from an endowment fund established in memory and honour of the late SMU Board of Trustee, Dr António Borges.

The Scholarship is available to full-time undergraduates from the School of Economics at the Singapore Management University. 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time undergraduates who have completed at least two regular terms of studies
  • Enrolled in Bachelor of Economics as primary programme of study
  • Any nationality
  • Good academic performance (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.40)
  • Good record of service and contributions to the University and/or to the community at large
  • Accepted to participate in a one-term overseas student exchange programme facilitated through the Centre for Global Education and Opportunities in the year of scholarship award

The scholarship will only be awarded if there is a candidate of sufficient merit.

Benefits

  • $13,333 per annum (towards subsidised tuition fees and study-related expenses)
  • Tenable for one year of study
