About the Financial Award
The APL Lua Cheng Eng Memorial Scholarship is funded from a generous endowment gift by NOL in memory of the late Mr Lua Cheng Eng. The scholarship is aimed at motivating full-time undergraduates at the Singapore Management University to achieve greater heights of excellence.
Eligibility Criteria
- Full-time undergraduates of any nationality and of good character
- Commencing second, third or final year of study in the year of award
- Outstanding academic results (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.40)
- Demonstrate leadership potential and active involvement in community service
- Priority consideration for students with demonstrated interest to pursue a career in the maritime industry or are enrolled in the Maritime Business Operations Track

- Tenable for one year of study

This Scholarship is made possible from the proceeds of an endowed sum by Neptune Orient Lines Limited (NOL) in memory of the late Mr Lua Cheng Eng, who as CEO and Chairman, had built NOL Group into Singapore's No. 1 shipping line and one of the largest container carriers in the world.
