About the Donor

Mr Chan Chong Beng, Chairman of Goodrich Global, is affectionately called by his friends as CB Chan. A philanthropist, he has always been very active in charity sponsorship.

Conferred the prestigious title of ‘Overall Winner – Entrepreneur of the Year 2007’, he has changed what was once called a ‘sunset industry’ into a fast growing business. Goodrich is the leading brand in the supply and distribution of wallcovering, carpet, fabric and flooring in South East Asia. From a 7-man company in 1983, Goodrich Global has transcended cultures and boundaries and is now 350-man strong, with over 30 regional offices and Goodrich Galleries located throughout 8 countries including Singapore, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and United Arab Emirates.

In 2005, Mr Chan ordered a re-branding exercise to strategically re-position the Goodrich brand among end-consumers. To date, the Goodrich brand is valued at S$15.4million by Brand Finance, and has been accredited with the “Singapore Quality Class” certification and the ISO 9001:2000 certification.

Goodrich has also been awarded “Singapore Tatler Best of Singapore” consecutively from 2012 till 2016 with The Best Soft Furnishings Award. In 2015, Goodrich was also awarded “2015 Aon Hewitt Best Employer in the SME category”. Currently, Mr Chan is the Chairman of Workforce Advancement Federation Workforce which is a non-profit organisation incorporated to provide assistance and support to the local business communities in building a sustainable workforce.
