About the Award

Established in 2025, the Prize is to motivate exceptional students within the International Moots Programme at the University’s Yong Pung How School of Law (“YPHSL”) and spur them to greater heights of excellence. In honour of Professor Chen Siyuan for his tireless dedication in building the SMU Moot Programme, the Prize seeks to recognise one top student researcher in the LAW430 International Moots 2 module and continue supporting the aspirations of future SMU mooters.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates shall be full time undergraduate students participating in the International Moots Programme at the YPHSL of the University
  • The Prize will be awarded to one (1) top non-speaker/researcher in the LAW430 International Moots 2 module
  • All decisions in relation to the award of the Prizes will be made at the discretion of the University and the relevant internal committee at YPHSL
