Having started from humble roots, both Jay and Marilyn fully appreciate that the lack of financial resources can often deprive young and talented individuals of opportunities to further their studies and pursue their dreams.

The couple is grateful for their blessings and are motivated to provide others with such similar opportunities.  This gift to SMU is in celebration of their silver jubilee wedding anniversary.  The couple sincerely hopes that these individuals can pursue their goals and contribute to society and to the development of Singapore.
