About the Donor
Mr Joseph Grimberg SC was a remarkable man, a peerless lawyer and a generous supporter of legal education, and whose significant contributions to the legal sector will forever be remembered. Described as “the finest of his time”, Mr Grimberg cared deeply about education and supported SMU students through various gifts and encouragement for our students at the School of Law.
With the support of his friends and family, the SMU School of Law has established the Joe Grimberg Excellence Fund which will assist aspiring but financially needy students as they strive for academic excellence.
“We are very touched by the affection and respect shown to our father by the many generous donors to this fund in his name. We know he would have been moved too. It is our hope that the fund will support and cultivate new generations of lawyers, jurists and legal scholars who love the law every bit as much as he did.” – Family of the late Mr Joseph Grimberg SC
