About the Donor
Dr Lillyn Teh has long been a strong advocate for education as the cornerstone of shaping future pathways for young individuals. With her background in Finance and Computer Science, both as an academic and a practitioner with diverse industry experience, she has witnessed how the blending of the two disciplines has provided unique perspectives, facilitating the application of different tools and concepts to classic problems and new challenges.
Dr Teh was very fortunate to have benefitted from her parents' strong support and encouragement for her own educational journey and wishes to give back by enabling access to quality education which can help to realise the full potential of young people.
She believes very strongly that education is a catalyst for social mobility and economic prosperity and supports meaningful learning opportunities and initiatives that encourage curiosity, creativity and critical thinking. Dr Teh is committed to making a significant and lasting impact on individuals and communities in the University's educational journey, and seeks to make a difference in building a brighter future for generations to come.
Dr Teh was an educator and taught at two American universities before joining the private sector, including managing one of the largest US pension fund and responsible for US$60b in global equities. She is currently happily retired.
