About the Financial Award
Established in 2024, the Mdm Leow Poh Fong Endowed Scholarship is available to full-time Singaporean undergraduates at the Singapore Management University. The objective of the Scholarship is to motivate outstanding undergraduates at the University, with demonstrated financial needs, to spur them on to greater heights of academic excellence and to accord appropriate recognition to the recipients of the Scholarship for their accomplishments.
Eligibility Criteria
- Singapore Citizens
- Full-time undergraduates enrolled in any degree programme
- Good academic results (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00)
- Demonstrable financial needs (with gross monthly household per capita income in accordance with prevailing guidelines to qualify for government bursaries)
Benefits
- $13,333 per annum (towards subsidised tuition fees)
- Tenable for one year of study
- The recipient may apply for government bursary, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria

About the Donor
The Mdm Leow Poh Fong Endowed Scholarship was established by Willy Wee (BAcc 2013) to honour his mother, whose unwavering resilience and support played a pivotal role in his educational journey. Inspired by her sacrifices, Willy’s scholarship is a tribute to her and a commitment to giving back.
During his time at SMU, Willy was awarded the International Trading Track Scholarship, which provided critical financial aid and opened doors to opportunities in the trading industry, where he built a rewarding career. He also benefited from a government exchange scholarship, enabling a transformative semester abroad in Mexico that broadened his horizons.
Recognising the profound impact of these experiences on his personal and professional growth, Willy is committed to paying it forward by empowering deserving students to realise their potential without financial burdens. Through the Mdm Leow Poh Fong Endowed Scholarship, he hopes to inspire recipients to embrace the spirit of giving and support others in their journey, continuing the cycle of generosity and empowerment.
